My basic recipe.

So after some terrible failures I finally found a great base juice that is also a good base salad. Here is that recipe.

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugThe Basic:

  • 3-4 large romaine heart leaves, or 4-5 small
  • 10 grapes
  • 1 stalk of celery, leaves included
  • 5 baby carrots or 1 large regular carrot.
  • Another fruit.. I like 4 strawberries, a couple slices of watermelon, oranges, or a kiwi
  • 1/2 a cupo f water and 3 ice cubes

Variations

  • Add peeled cucumber slices
  • Use raw spinach instead of romaine
  • Add half a scoop of protein powder
  • add a red, yellow, or orange sweet pepper without the seeds
  • Broccoli and tomatoes are really tasty if you like them.. you can make soup out of your juice too!
  • Use Kale leaves
  • Ginger root or powdered ginger

My favorite salad dressing recipe!

  1. I had started the reboot once before but im a mother of three older kids and a husband who are all over weight, I did the recipe for the green drink the kale, celery green apples, ginger and cucumber and had very good results however; I only did it for two weeks, I wanted to thank you for giving me the insperation I needed to get back on the track of jucing thank you , oh one questions I had is the recipe you have posted as the basic is that you green drink?

    • Yes. guess you could say that is my ‘green drink’. I used it as my go to drink, and always had ingredients for that. After some trial and error I found that using a base drink and then changing slightly worked well for me staying on track and my budget. Good luck with your fast and let me know how it goes!

  2. Thank you for sharing your story! I would like to start this at the beginning of the year, so it is after the holidays and right before I go back to school. Do you have any advice? How many drinks a day, what about snacking, etc. I have been overweight since I was a kid and after having my son I have had a difficult time getting back to the (then smallest) size I had ever been which was right before I had him.

    • Thanks for sharing a good luck! i would suggest starting off with 3 drinks (if you can do a lunch one, I did a salad) if you feel hungry juice! or eat fruit / veggies like carrots or celery that will satisfy that crunch. The occasional unsalted nut or mixed nut will help you get protein in and be a snack. Allow for no substitutions, no cheat days, no justifications. be hardcore for your fast and then 10 days out prepare for break fast of at least 15 – 30 days. This is a fast not a diet, so eat all the raw food and veggies you want. Watch out for avacados and bananas for their high fat/ calorie content. buy some soy or bean sprout protein powder and juice/blend SIMPLE juices with 2-3 ingredient recipes until you find the right combination that you like. Try making raw tomoato taco soup. Make a tomato juice of your liking, add chili/taco seasoning, heat it up lightly then add carrot, beans, and celery chunks. On cold days this is a great way to change it up. Let me know how you feel and good luck.

  3. Thank-you for sharing your basic recipe! So many of the juice recipes I am finding, seem like they must make A LOT of juice and I have decided to give the Nutribullet a try, so I’ll need something that will fit that unit and your basic recipe seems better suited to that size/amount. Are there any other recipes you really liked?

    • I’ll work on getting some more lori, but for now I’ll be posting variants in the day by day area and then i’ll transpose some more into this section! Thanks for your support and I wish you the very best in your journey!
